Follow Through and Overlapping - Examining Animation Works for Examples

lnmichieli

Follow through: the way body or object moves after body stops

Overlapping action: the way different parts of a body or object move at different speeds

The cat bus suddenly stops, causing it to lean forward then rock backwards into a stationary position

When Luisa begins to step, her skirt blows out when her knee comes down, then sways back in, then out a little again before she lifts her other leg. This happens with both the first and second stomp.

When Pokey lifts up to right himself again, he stumbles from one side to the other, then rights himself. This is a little less smooth than other examples, as this is an older claymation.
